The Treehouse, Mask in the Forest by Moguang Studio

Tucked into the woods of Suizhou, China, The Treehouse, Mask in the Forest by Moguang Studio is a 190 m² retreat raised above ground to protect ancient trees and enhance forest views. Built in 2023, the structure features charred cedar cladding and geometric forms that respond to the site’s irregular shape.

Curved walls, wood finishes, and soft lighting create a warm, cocoon-like atmosphere. Strategic openings frame nature like artwork, blending interior comfort with outdoor immersion. The curated design creates a quiet escape above, while the open base invites outdoor activity below—making this a thoughtful balance of architecture and environment.
